At 60 years and beyond, how we feel—good or bad—is ultimately our personal choice. At this stage of life, we have earned the right to live on our own terms, without being weighed down by what others think or say about us.
Whether our circumstances are favourable or challenging, we can still choose to find beauty, meaning, and joy in everything we do.
Sometimes, what holds us back isn’t our age, health, or environment; it’s our own limiting thoughts. When we allow doubt or fear to take root, we shrink ourselves and start to feel less than who we truly are.
But life becomes lighter and more fulfilling when we develop the confidence to say, “I am who I choose to be.” This self-assurance comes from deep self-acceptance and gratitude for the journey we’ve travelled so far.
We hold the keys to our own happiness. No one else lives inside our body or feels our emotions and pain the way we do when our body starts rebelling.
Therefore, one of the most important aspects of our ageing journey is to cultivate a strong and positive relationship with ourselves, as this will enhance our relationships with others.
You hold the keys to your own happiness. Don’t wait for others to define your worth or joy. Choose to live fully, now. Share on XDespite life showing up at different times, we must learn to be kind to ourselves; the wrinkles, grey hair and very dry skin don’t mean that we should always be under the duvet and waiting for death to come. It is our badge of honour; we must wear it with pride.
